Facebook | State Farm Insurance

Facebook | State Farm Insurance: "Tom Steele Just to let you all know, DVD's and CD's are NOT COVERED in your car if you are robbed and have STATE FARM insurance. I've been with State Farm my whole adult life and have a lot of insurance with them, this is the first claim in over 20 years and I'm told that a large chunk of my loss is not covered.

Tom Steele To add insult to injury, the claims adjuster said that if I didn't have a permanent DVD player installed in the car, then the DVD's would have been covered!?! So if I had a portable DVD player, then DVD's would be covered, but since the minivan has a built-in DVD player then they are not. Wonder what else I'm not covered on that I think I am covered on with State Farm?"

  1. The auto policy covers the car and it's equipment. CD's aren't "equipment". If they are covered anywhere it would be your homeowners or renters policy.

It the adjuster actually told you (which I doubt) That they would be covered if you had a portable DVD player, which wouldn't be covered,
    the adjuster is wrong.
