I currently work for State Farm. I constantly take calls from customers complaining about their insurance rates going up and usually have to "research" to find out why because most of the time there is no apparent reason. I've been told by many Underwriters to tell customers that there was an "across the board" rate increase, because the customers would not understand it if I tried to explain the real reason for their insurance going up. My boss, the State Farm Agent, is a bipolar, micromanager."
